About
At Cloud 9 we specialize in Stock Breeds that perform in western and hunt seat disciplines. However, we are mainly a western facility! We focus on the horse's individual excel. We ensure the horses conformation compliments the discipline the horse rides in. Cloud 9 hopes our stallions and broodmares will present themselves as producers of eye-catching foals, and preform to their highest ability.
Philosophy
We have been very selective and purchased stallions and mares with conformation, soundness and great attitudes at the top of the list of requirements. Our horses are a close knit part of the Cloud 9 family, making temperament of the utmost importance to us. Here at Cloud 9 Equestrian Center, they are used for various types of riding, so they must be sound in mind and body. Of course, we enjoy beauty and consider our horses to having much eye appeal.
Establishment History
Every establishment has a starting story! Well, here is ours!
Built within a glen of the valley of Avila, rolling hills on either side, with a ocean shoreline - Cloud 9 Equestrian Center was bound to have a large potential benefit. A young girl freshly out of college with a dream to have a facility for horses, came across this special location, and the idea started to bloom farther than she could have ever imagined.
It started off with just a small barn in the middle of the valley (where the stallion barn now is). Lorraine bought the land with the little money she had. She thought this will be a great investment!, and she later comes to find out it really is! The first horse on the premises was her first horse, she got as a gift when she was 14. He kept her out of trouble all those years ago, and she thought she would better his life by bringing him along to the next step in both of their lives.
Once settled in, with a good size barn, Lorraine started to post advertisements all over the local town, and surrounding areas for boarding, training, and even lesson giving. The turn out was small, but the people who showed up were kind to the young girl, who was just starting out. Within time, she grew to understand more of what she needed to know about running this barn. She was able to expand the barn (from 4 stalls, to 8 stalls!), she gave it a large wash stall, an office, and a hay storage loft. She was getting the feedback she needed!
As Lorraine got older, so did the barn. There were a few more renovations over the years, 8 stalls turned into 16, and now 2 wash stalls, and a heated lounge. She was fairly content with the work she has done. Remembering what she started out with, she was very self-pleased. All of this expanding, was done only with Lorraine, and herself only. She started to realize, if she keep expanding, she's going to need stable hands (or at least someone to cover the weekends, so she can breath) This is when Lorraine hired the first helper, Rose Marshall.

| VEOLA LOVELESS Manager Cloud 9's manager, she's in charge of most of the facility up-keep and making sure everything is running smoothly. She's first at the barn every morning, and last to leave, every night. Amanda is the heart and soul of the Center. She's so caring for all the animals, trainers, and the working hands that are hired at Cloud 9. She graduated from college with a Equine Business degree, and a Management training certificate. Even without all the documentation, her heart is it the right place, and she runs it all perfectly! |  |
