~The Broudein Stud page 2 eventing

welcome to the Broudein stud. We are a small competition yard specialising in dressage and eventing, and the dealings of fine sport horses from across the country. We also breed and break horses on a small scale from home stock. The stud has been founded through various trials and errors of our staffs from across the equus land. We are a determined team of avid competitors, training vigorously and will hopefully reap the rewards soon.

Our small yard accomodates our competition animals, with only the basic amenities needed for us. We train on the countryside and our small sand arena. When we start making more money, we hope to upgrade slowly.















We hope to use this topic to keep you all updated with our horses training, show entries, staff and other goings on. Until i am back at home, i won't be able to edit as much as i'd like so very simple horse and rider bio's to come. We hope you stick with us and follow our success! until the next installment...

Mares of the broudein stud



"Beauty" is our only eventing mare. She is a tall horse with a colourfull personality. She was tough to break, coming to us from Breanna as a 3 y/o filly. The mare is yet to be debuted and has just started her serious training. She is a yard favorite and is to stay on with us due to her courage and scope over XC fences.




"Jazz" is a quirky little mare with great paces and an intelligent head. She is a flashy addition to our show team, we believe she could become a grand prix dressage horse, she begs to differ. Unfortunately she has begun rearing and we are in the process of trying to discover the cause. Until we have found a solution , her education is on hold.




"Kara" is our newest addition. A birthday gift from Katherine Burdon, Kara has already shown some potential as a dressage horse and we are keen to see how far we can take her education. She is a full bodied mare and we are sure she will stay on as a broodmare if her career doesnt work out.




"Sascha" came to us from an overseas breeder. She is a chunky little mare, and a handful to work with. She is known as the princess around the yard, and can be very difficult on the ground. She is a very pampered little girl and extremely vocal, often giving us the impression she understands whats going on! again, with her strength we think she will stay on as a broodmare after her career.




"Bella" Is our youngest horse, Brought from a local equus breeder. She has just turned 3 years old and boy, is she a striking looking thing! Shes flashy with strong bones and great conformation, This little girl is bold and intuative. We are getting very exiting to see what she is going to be like under saddle, With hopes she will be our next eventing star. Keep an eye on this one!

With the recent havoc, Only larry has been put into serious work. This is his first advanced course.. we are so pleased with him.

The Tannoys were blaring out various numbers and mumbles as they thundered towards the final section of the course. At midday, the sun should have been beating down but today didnt feel like a warm day, Or maybe it was the wind biting through the wet fabric of his back onto his clammy skin. Larry had been exceptionally on form today, but as his first advanced he had thrown his might into the first fences, and they weren't getting any smaller.. He scraped over the cart fence, Nostrils blowing like an old steam train. Luke took a strong grip to the reins, larry had no intention to slow down.. will he make it till the end?
